Our facilities are fully accessible
Wyoming United Church is an accessible Church
Physical:
We are fortunate that the facilities are on ground
level with no limits to walkers, wheel chairs, or those with
limitations. There are parking spots reserved along a
sidewalk to allow easy access and transfer of guests and their
accessibility equipment. A spaceous restroom is
available, and two extra-wide aisles in the sanctuary allow room for
a wheel chair, scooter, or walker at the end of the pews
Hearing:
The building is wired for sound not only in
the sanctuary, but the narthex, all-purpose room, and the
nursery. Microphones pick up voices from
various sources, and direct it generally into the whole Church or in
specific areas for the hear impaired.
Sight:
Large print bulletins for the Sunday
Services are now available on request. (To reduce unnessessary
use of God's precious resources these are printed on
request) If we know that you are coming, a large print
copy can be waiting for you or one can be quickly made in a couple of minutes.
Allergens:
We are striving to make the services and events
accessible to those with sensitivities to flowers, colognes, or
perfumes. While you will not find live flowers or
plants within the sanctuary, it has been a pleasant surprise to find
many beautiful flower arrangements which are made of none scented materials.
It is also the policy of the Church to ask people to
consider others when applying colognes and perfumes. While
we do ask this of all who come to Wyoming United, we do not turn
anyone away and cannot guarantee scent free.
